Thinking of your Dr. Dog experience, I was really into a band called Son Lux back when Trump got elected the first time. They made what was essentially an anti-Trump album shortly after that (not explicitly, I don't think, but it was like, "This is our act of hope and resistance," or something along those lines). It made me step away from them, although I don't really hold too much of a grudge and would like to listen to their new stuff again some day.
